They say that in the past Cyprus was used to annoit wounds that seemed impossible to heal. The oil was also burned in the death chamber of traditional Egypt, along with Sandalwood and sometimes Frankincense and Myrrh. It comes from a beautiful tree, large branches, tall top, and is an Egyptian specialty.

It smells briefly of paper before expanding into a slightly metholated, warming scent, and has excellent analgesic properties. They also say Cyprus will help with stress, and bad cholesterol!

We Egyptians were built on scents, and thrive on scents, and continue further to use scents in our everyday lives. The creators of perfumery and ancient Aromatherapy, we've had them in our culture for as long as I can remember - when you walk down the street, what do you see hanging from the lamps in Cairo? Small baskets of incense. Mm, just because the smell of rustic juniper is great for an evening stroll. And in our teas at work we're encouraged to make sure the aroma of the tea leaf is as potent as possible - linked to taste, smell can change the absolute fiber of a beverage.

It's so fundamental, this smell.

The one last sensory organ in our body that isn't tainted by subjectivity.

Mm, and to be Egyptian and to deny scent is such a travesty!
